When Hank releases the 17, or was that 27, ducks from the "hoosgow" comforter, his momma decides it might be better for Hank to strike out on his own before the local dog catcher arrives. The best place for dog with lineage like Hank has got to be the local livestock auction--maybe he can get a job with the cowboys. But Hank meets up with Slim the Cowboy and before you know it, the trouble begins. Slim is on his way to Montana to take a job and he has no room for a homeless pooch.
