About the Author: This series is written by Dr. Cyndy Unwin. Since graduating with a teaching degree in 1985, Cyndy has taught children and adults of many backgrounds and levels of ability. One truth always emerges: That all of us, young and old, have a need to improve ourselves and our interactions with other people. As a teacher and reading specialist, Cyndy has always tried to integrate discussion of character issues into whatever curriculum her students were studying. Becoming a better person was always an underlying goal within her classroom, for every individual. Because this goal is so important to Cyndy as a person, she also made an effort to spread good will and positive character traits to others outside her classroom--to her family, to the youth of her church family, and through her writing endeavors. This Character Education series is just another step in that process, providing a resource for teachers who feel their students need more direct involvement in positive character development. Cyndy hopes the stories, both real and imaginary, open many opportunities for growth.
